Yes Chef — Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 July 2026
Welcome to Yes Chef. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. Yes Chef is operated by NHC Labs (Nevin Bagley) ("we", "us"), Luxembourg.
1. Your account
You sign in with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to it secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country).
2. The App and the three tiers
Yes Chef offers:
- Just Starting — free.
- Home Cooked — free.
- Confident Cook — a paid subscription that unlocks advanced and AI-assisted features.
We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the App.
3. Subscriptions, billing and pricing (Confident Cook)
- Confident Cook is a recurring subscription (anchor price €4.99 per month, or the equivalent shown for your country).
- Fair regional pricing: the price is adapted to your country, so it may be lower or higher than €4.99 depending on where your Google Play account is registered.
- Billing is handled by Google Play. Your subscription renews automatically each period until you cancel.
- Cancel any time through your Google Play account; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App — including attempting to bypass paid features, gain access at a price not intended for your region (e.g. by misrepresenting your location), reverse-engineer the App, or use it for anything unlawful.
5. Our content
Recipes, instructions, images, text and other materials that we provide in the App are owned by NHC Labs (Nevin Bagley) or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. They are the product of the creator's professional culinary experience. You may use them for your personal, non-commercial cooking. You may not copy, redistribute, or resell them.
6. User-Generated Content & Community
Yes Chef includes community features. You can choose to post content, including:
- Reviews — a star rating and written review of a dish;
- Community cooks — a post sharing a dish you made, with a caption and rating, shown in the public community feed (in this version, community posts reuse the dish's own image; you do not upload your own photos);
- Profile details — a display name, an avatar (emoji or preset), and a short bio.
Your content is public. Once a review, community cook, or profile detail is approved, it is visible to other users of the App. Do not post anything you would not want to be public.
Licence you grant us. You keep ownership of what you post. By posting content, you grant NHC Labs (Nevin Bagley) a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for formatting, translation and safety), moderate and distribute that content within the App and its promotion, for as long as you keep it posted (and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups and legal records). You confirm you have the right to post it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
Prohibited content. You must not post content that is:
- illegal, or that promotes or facilitates illegal activity;
- hateful, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, or bullying;
- sexual or sexually explicit;
- sexual content involving minors — this is a zero-tolerance rule (see below);
- spam, scams, deceptive, or misleading;
- dangerous or unsafe food advice (for example, guidance that would lead to unsafe food handling, unsafe preservation/canning, or harmful ingredient use);
- infringing on someone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- impersonating another person, brand, or us.
Moderation. To keep the community safe, content you post is screened before it becomes public using automated moderation (a fast heuristic check plus a strict AI text-moderation screen), with a fail-safe that sends anything uncertain to a human hold. Our administrators can approve or reject content. We may remove any content, refuse to publish it, hide it, or edit it for formatting/safety, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms — at our reasonable discretion and, where practical, with notice.
Reporting and flagging. If you see published content that breaks these rules, please report it using the in-app report button. You will be asked to choose a reason — offensive/hateful, sexual/explicit, spam/scam, dangerous or unsafe advice, or other. Reported content is reviewed, and content that receives enough reports is automatically hidden pending re-review. We keep a record of reports and of moderation decisions for safety and legal reasons.
Serious and illegal content. Content depicting or promoting the sexual exploitation of minors (CSAM), or other seriously illegal material, is removed and may be reported to law enforcement and to the relevant authorities (for example, in the United States, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children — NCMEC). We cooperate with lawful requests.
7. Reporting & takedowns
To report content, use the in-app report button. You can also contact us about abuse, illegal content, or intellectual-property/takedown requests at nevin@nhclabs.com. Please describe the content and why it should be removed so we can act quickly.
8. Food, allergen and health disclaimer
Yes Chef provides recipes and cooking guidance for general information only. You are responsible for safe food handling and for checking ingredients against your own allergies, intolerances, and dietary or medical needs. Allergen and dietary tags are provided as a helpful guide and may not be complete or error-free — always read ingredient labels and consult a medical professional where needed. We are not liable for any allergic reaction, illness, or harm resulting from preparing or eating dishes made with the App.
9. AI-generated content
Some features generate recipes and suggestions using AI (provided by Anthropic's Claude). AI output may occasionally be inaccurate or unsuitable; use your own judgement, especially regarding safety, quantities, and cooking times.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The App is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version and update the date; continued use means you accept the changes.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Luxembourg, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have in your country of residence.
